Welp...this weekend was a big transition for everyone in the Ybarra household. We said bye bye to Hadley's crib and hello to her big girl bed, that she will probably have until she leaves us for college. We were not planning on this transition until about the fall, however when this wild monkey started crawling out of her crib last month, we were left with only one choice...a trip to the emergency room or a big bed. We opted for 2 twin size beds which will allow my family a real bed to sleep in when they come to visit and allows for more room in H's room at this time.
When I went back to Atlanta at the beginning of the month, my mom and Aunt helped me pick out bedding from Pottery Barn Teen. We got this beautiful upholstered headboard from Target for a steal of a deal! Of course, momma needs her southern monogram pillow, which is actually in the mail from Mimi (I stole this yellow one off our bed). We had to rig the bed so she wouldn't fall off and buy pool noodles to place under the fitted sheet and get a bed railing since she sleeps all over the bed at night.
How did the transition go? Weeellll, Friday during nap time there was lots of screaming, crying, laughing and trying to make the great escape. For nearly 2 hours, Mason and I alternated sitting in her room and constantly putting her back in the bed when she crawled out. Needless to say, we went with out a nap Friday. But...good news is that since Friday night she has gone in her bed, laid down and played with her toys and slept all night w/o a problem. She loves her big girl bed and does not allow either me and Mason lay in bed.
What are the princesses for? Well, during her great escape attempts on Friday, she tried multiple times to crawl on top of the dresser to get down. So, since H is obsessed with her princesses, they "watched over her at night" and also told us in the morning that she did not try to get on top of the dresser in the middle of the night.
Also this weekend we decided to forgo the beautiful Rose Garden Easter egg hunt and made our own egg hunt at our beloved babysitter's house. Caitlynn's nephew is just a few months younger than H so they were just tickled when bubbles, eggs and dogs were involved. Hadley and Lucas didn't quiet understand the concept at first, but quickly got the hang of it after they realized the prizes and candy inside. We'll see how she does next Sunday when she sees the eggs again. This week we have to find H another Easter dress because the one we bought is already too short and shows her hinny. Have a good week and Happy Easter Week!!!
I LOVE Hadley's big girl bed!! The bed spread is *adorable*. Where did you get her monogram on the wall? Can take the girl out of The South, but you can't take the Southern out of you!! XOXO love you miss you!
