Christmas 2015

Christmas this year started promptly on the day after Thanksgiving during out tree outing to the hardware store and the "Cow's House" aka Chick-fil-a of course!  Hadley was very excited about Christmas this year as she pointed out every Santa, penguin, wreath, tree, lights, etc.  Mason wanted to get into the tradition of making gingerbread houses, so we had to make a village of 3 houses this year.  Georgia had to join in the village and she apparently "pooped out brown sprinkles" which Hadley thought was hilarious.

We also took the plunge this year and went to see the Holiday lights at Vasona park now that they have the new pre-paid ticket system.  We got right into the park within 20 minutes and H thought it was amazing to see all the lights and music, while also getting to sit in the front seat covered in her Anna/Elsa blanket.

Uncle John came to California this year for Christmas, which was super fun and Hadley was beyond excited that her Uncle John came to visit.  They even got to have a slumber party in her room every night, kinda, and John got the pleasure of waking up at 6:35am every morning!  Since daddy and Uncle John are great cooks, they decided to make home made chocolate chip cookies for Santa from scratch.  We pulled out the big electric Kitchen Aid mixer, which Hadley had never seen before and boy oh boy did she LOVE it!  She was 100% into helping pour all the ingredients and the best part was watching her turn the "on" button on every time and get so excited!  I think my favorite picture and memory of Christmas was her constantly putting her hand over her mouth with awe and excitement as her cookies got mixed!

Yep, that's right, I talked Uncle John into coming to Barre 3 class with me!!!  I think he was a little surprised  how hard it was compared to his current work out regime.  Would he come back with me again next time?  That we will have to wait and see!

This year we completely down graded her Christmas gifts this year, because last year was a bit ridiculous!  We decided to take on the tradition that Jesus had 3 wise men bring him 3 gifts on his birthday, so Hadley was going to get 3 gifts and a stocking for Christmas.  She told us several times she wanted at "crib for Penny" and pink scissors.  Everything else was just things she likes, grocery cart (which she plays with each week at barre class) princess crown, a Elsa/Anna dress for her American Girl doll, princess and cars book, and a Olaf milk cup.

Ohhhhh, the Weber grill!  I told Mason several weeks before Christmas that I had been talking to my "consultants" about his Christmas gift as I was trying to decide on which direction to go with the BBQ grill.  We were deciding, for what felt like forever, between the Big Green Egg and Weber gas grill, finally deciding the Saturday before Christmas on the Weber grill!  Mr. Handyman also thought he could put the whole thing together by himself until he watched a You Tube video at home later that afternoon!  Thank goodness it was assembled and delivered Christmas Eve so I wouldn't have a million little pieces all over my house!

We thought this doll cradle was a "crib for Penny" until Hadley was sitting in the cradle with Perro, Penny, and Baby Kristin.  Theeeeennn the bottom fell out as she was playing.  It was funny and frustrating at the same time as "Santa" just put together the crib the night before!

Ohhh, the memories we made this year!  We will add 1 to the mix next year to make it more exciting and busy!  Count down to meeting Baby Sloane Louisa Ybarra!
