Well...after a lot of discussion and hours of research, Hadley has started "school" this month! We were in need of a half day program to get her more socialization with her peers, since both Mason and I work during the week. It was difficult finding a school that not only had half day toddler programs, but that also was close to home so I could still make it to work in time. We settled for Action Day in Saratoga, only about 3 miles from our home. She goes twice a week from 8:30-12 and they keep these kids on a good routine/schedule. When she gets there they have music and movement, art, a hour outside playing (which she LOVES), and lunch then it's time to come home! Abuela picks her up from school and then daddy is home after work around 6pm.
Her first days of school have been great, with very little separation anxiety! I think we have all been very anxious since starting school, but it's already been 2 weeks and she already knows the hand motions to "Wheels on the Bus" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." She can never sit through story time at the library, so the fact that she already knows this in 2 weeks tells us she is having a great time! We hope this new socialization with her peers will improve her speech development, which was also recommended by our doctor and speech therapist.
Her teachers got these cute little cookie jars on the first day with help from Pintrest! The adorable tags, I just printed on colorful paper and cut them out! Of course I was excited to pick out a book bag for her, which she loves wearing and doesn't want to take off! My mother, jokes that I am going to be the room mother, but lets not go that far. I just like being creative when I have the time. Who doesn't love a cute little thank you gift?
