Apple Pickin'

Yes, yes, I know it's only September 1st, however I feel like now is no better time to start gearing up for FALL!!!  For so many years that I've wanted to pick fruit, but Mason always tells me to go to the farmers market or grocery store to pick fruit!  No, no, that's not what I mean Mason.  A few weeks back he said "Lets go pick apples...like it was a new concept to him."  So I let him believe it was his idea and of and away we went.

We went to Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville about a hour south of home.  We totally missed the strawberry and black berry season this year, but apples are the next best thing.  The apple trees were FULL of apples and will only last for about the next month.  Red delicious, Gala, Pippin, & Golden delicious apples with rows and rows of trees both at Hadley's height and our height.  There were tiny little apples and huge apples all over.  Thank goodness for the wagon because our bucket got very full and heavy quick!

I highly recommend this place and the car loads of people that were coming to pick, must mean it's a very popular place!  Next stop...Pumpkin patches next month!!!

Of course, baby Leah had to have some apples too!

No more strawberries left in the fields as you can see!  Maybe next year we will come back for berries!  Strawberries, boysenberries, raspberries, and olallieberries, yum!
