I was the least impressed with the all white look, therefore I took my creative mind to Home Depot and met my new Home Depot friend Anna, who told me about the crafty way to make chalk board paint. I had no idea that chalk board paint only came in like 8 different colors, so she told me to pick ANY color I wanted from the wall. Oh jeez, that was a task in itself. We settled for Behr Paint and Primer in One color Citrus Hill which was the prettiest peach color. Anna said there was no need to sand the chairs down, phew! She also mentioned by making chalk board paint, this makes the chairs "water proof," so Hadley could spill anything she wanted on them and they would be toddler-proof. Hadley has already tested this hypothesis with spilling her milk all over the chairs, which was easy to just wipe off. This was the easiest little project and seriously took 1 hour, with the longest part picking out the paint color.
The "recipe" for making chalk board paint is quiet simple:
1 quart of any paint color
1 cup of baking soda
Mix, paint & enjoy!
